The Cwm Taf Safeguarding Adults Board (CTSAB) is a group made up of key partner agencies who work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of adults in the Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf areas. The Board is responsible for protecting vulnerable adults from abuse, reducing the risk of abuse, and supporting people to stop abuse where it happens.
Members of the Safeguarding Adults Board come from a wide range of organisations, including Local Government, Cwm Taf University Health Board, Welsh Ambulance Service Trust , Wales Probation Trust and South Wales Police.
The vision is to ensure that adults living in Cwm Taf, feel safe and free from abuse and neglect. The service is based on the principles of prevention, protection, choice, self determination, independence and recovery, and its mission is to ensure that Adult Safeguarding becomes everyone’s business.
What is Safeguarding
Safeguarding adults means protecting adults who may be at risk of abuse or neglect and putting plans in place to prevent harm in the future. Safeguarding is about both preventing abuse and neglect, and promoting good practice when responding to specific concerns.
