The Cwm Taf Safeguarding Children Board (CTSCB) is a statutory group made up of key partner agencies including community and voluntary organisations who work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in the Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf areas.
The Cwm Taf Safeguarding Children’s Board vision is:
" to ensure that children and young people in Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf are protected from abuse and neglect. Their welfare safeguarded and promoted and they live in an environment that promotes their wellbeing and life chances. The Cwm Taf Safeguarding Children Board will listen to and hear the view of children and young people".
What is Safeguarding?
The main responsibilities of the CTSCB is to coordinate the work of organisations and partner agencies who sit on the Board to safeguard and ensure the welfare of children and young people. Children can only be kept safe properly if the key partner agencies work together. CTSCB helps make sure this happens by holding partner agencies to account and to ensure that safeguarding children remains high on the agenda across the region.
What are the main objectives of the Board?
The vision and objectives of the CTSCB will be achieved by working together in partnership with children, young people, the community, statutory partners, voluntary partners and key strategic partnerships.
